Metal base denture
|
Metal base denture has a metal palate replacing the plastic plate. Because the metal can define gum lines more accurately, it fits and hold better than plastic base. No denture adhesive gel is needed. The only difference with the plastic denture is the base part. The photograph shows the plate of a metal denture, which was reproduced in detail. |

The second photograph shows a plastic base denture. Because plastic expands and contracts in the production process, it is hard to reproduce the plate in detail. For that reason, denture adhesives are needed for a plastic base denture.
